Here to help you.

Britney LaRive, MA, LPC- Associate
Supervised by David M. Lawson, Ph.D., LPC-S
We have the tendency to reflect on our past actions & decisions, often with a critical eye. From time to time, we engage in negative self-talk- “It was my fault,” “I should have known better,” or “Why did I let that happen to myself?” I want to challenge that perspective and empower you to take back your sense of self-worth & your right to make choices.
Originally from Georgia, I am a Sam Houston graduate with a Master of Arts in Counseling. I specialize in helping individuals work through concerns related to trauma, attachment, and self-esteem. Using an integrative approach to counseling, I utilize different therapeutic modalities for healing, such as Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
I will meet you where you are and prioritize building a therapeutic relationship at your pace. Over time, our alliance will create a safe space for you to learn new ways of relating to yourself and others. Just as a tree needs water and sunlight to grow, people, too, can flourish when provided with the right environment, time, and support.
