Hello! I am Frank Ortiz and I am the founder of District Counseling and your therapist! I established the DC to meet the high demands for clinical mental health therapists in the Cypress and Houston, Texas area. I offer counseling services for various issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship issues. Being bilingual, I am also able to provide counseling services in Spanish. I have been in the field of counseling & psychotherapy for over four years, during which time I have dedicated time learning from the top counselors and psychotherapists.

Ever since I could remember I have had my heart set in helping others. I am passionate about the work I do with individuals and couples. In our sessions, we will be using the best of the best therapeutic approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, also known as ACT. This approach is being called the new modern psychotherapy. It can be challenging explaining ACT, but the main goal is for you to live the life you have been wanting to live. A life with purpose and meaning, a life driven by your values. For Couple’s therapy, I also incorporate the Gottman Method, the most advanced and researched based approach to couple’s counseling, developed by Dr. John Gottman.
I look forward to every session in working alongside you to meet your goals! No matter what walk of life you are in, whether you are a student, parent, wife or husband, young professional, or high-profile executive, the DC is here for you. I myself have gone through counseling and I understand the challenge there is in asking for help. I admire your courage and desire for change.
Apart from being a therapist, I am also a husband, father, advocate, and a Seventh-day Adventist Christian. I am married to a beautiful school counselor. (Can you imagine how two counselors, who are married, argue?). We enjoy spending time with one another and with our two kids, who keep us quite busy. Well, that is a bit about me, I look forward to meeting you soon!
