Greetings!
My name is Karen Garza, MS, and I am a professional school counselor currently working towards my license professional counselor associate licensure. I am under the supervision of Jackie Hurtado, LPC-S. As a therapist, I have always had a passion for helping children and teenagers with various mental health issues. Growing up, I struggled with my own mental health challenges and it was through therapy that I found healing and the desire to help others on their journey. Cypress is where I currently call home and it has been an honor to serve this community. As a Spanish-speaking therapist, I have seen the great need for mental health services within the Hispanic population. Many families in Cypress and surrounding areas struggle with finding help for their children who are dealing with depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. It can be overwhelming and confusing for parents to navigate the mental health system, especially if English is not their first language. That’s where I come in.
At District Counseling, specifically at the Treehouse location in Cypress, I am able to provide therapy services for children and teenagers in both English and Spanish. My approach is person-centered, which means that I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual client. Through this approach, I have seen tremendous growth and positive changes in my clients.
