Here to help you.

Hi,  I’m Karen Garza, MS, NBCC, LPC-A
Currently practicing as an LPC-Associate under the supervision of Jackie Hurtado, LPC-S, I bring a deeply personal perspective to my work at District Counseling. My journey into this field began with my own mental health challenges; therapy changed my life, and it inspired a lifelong mission to help others find that same path to healing.
Before transitioning into full-time clinical therapy, I spent seven years serving as a teacher and professional school counselor. This experience gives me a unique “insider’s view” of the pressures students face, but my passion extends to helping individuals of all ages. Today, I work with both youth and adults, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I am especially passionate about serving our Hispanic community. As a bilingual therapist, I bridge the gap for Spanish-speaking families who often find the mental health system overwhelming. My practice is person-centered and includes specialized clinical services such as:
- EMDR Therapy:Â A specialized approach to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences.
- Forensic Mental Health Evaluations:Â Professional assessments for legal and immigration-related cases.
- Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Evaluations:Â For those who benefit from the therapeutic presence of an animal.
Whether you are a parent seeking help for a child or an adult navigating your own healing journey, I provide a supportive space, in both English and Spanish, tailored to your unique needs.
You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. I am here for you and your family, ready to provide guidance every step of the way. Let’s work together to move toward a life of hope and well-being.
I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey!
