Susan Thompson
I’m a therapist who blends creative and expressive interventions with a deep respect for nature, animals, and authentic self-expression. Growing up in Hawai‘i shaped my belief that mindfulness is rooted in our connection to the earth, which is why I integrate nature-based and eco-therapy practices to help clients feel grounded, centered, and supported. My training in creative and expressive interventions — including art-based approaches from my doctoral studies — brings flexibility and depth to the healing process.
I have extensive training in trauma-informed care. My foundation was built working with teens in a high-intensity residential facility supporting youth who were removed from their homes and navigating severe behavioral and mental health challenges. Alongside this, I also gained experience working with individuals across the lifespan, LGBTQ+ clients, and people navigating major life transitions and identity shifts.
At the heart of my approach is the spirit of aloha — showing up with warmth, compassion, and presence. I also value caring for the planet, and I often weave nature and mindfulness together as reminders that healing is both personal and connected to the world around us.
