Hello
I’m Camie Smith, an empathetic and dedicated counselor deeply committed to guiding my clients through life’s trials and helping them achieve their personal growth and well-being aspirations. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) under the expert supervision of Rachel Phillips, MA, LPC-S, LMHC. My educational background includes a Master’s of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Southern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, located in Columbia, MO.
With a wealth of clinical experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with women and adolescents girls in individual and group settings facing various challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, life transitions, self-esteem and trauma recovery. My approach to therapy is multifaceted, incorporating evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s specific needs and objectives. Among the therapeutic techniques I draw from are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), aimed at identifying and reshaping unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Additionally, I integrate mindfulness practices to empower my clients in managing stress and cultivating self-awareness.
As a counselor, my primary mission is to provide unwavering support to my clients on their path to healing and personal growth. I’m committed to establishing a safe, non-judgmental environment where individuals can freely explore their thoughts and emotions. Equipped with an arsenal of tools, I assist clients in effectively managing the stresses and challenges life presents. I firmly believe that my life’s purpose is to infuse positivity, faith, and hope into the lives of my clients. Life may present obstacles, but I’m dedicated to helping my clients lead fulfilling, healthy lives in their own unique way.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I find joy in indulging in comfort shows that I can watch repeatedly, savoring each episode as if it were the first time. I’m also enthusiastic about exploring new activities to expand my hobbies, including meditation, breathwork, candle making, lip gloss crafting, etiquette classes, and even kickboxing. Additionally, I have a peculiar fascination with anything related to zombies, driven by the belief that “if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.”
Recognizing that taking the initial step toward seeking counseling can be daunting, I acknowledge the courage it entails. I am here to provide my clients with unwavering support, a toolbox of valuable resources, and expert guidance to facilitate profound and positive life changes. Together, we will collaboratively work towards realizing your goals and enhancing your overall well-being.
